Recently, the Department of Science and Technology of Jiangsu Province issued a notice on the public announcement of the second batch of proposed concept validation centers in Jiangsu Province. The Yangtze River Delta Physics Research Center, together with Tianmu Lake Advanced Energy Storage Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "TIES"), has successfully been selected as a concept validation center in Jiangsu Province.
The Jiangsu Concept Validation Center is a specialized platform established in Jiangsu Province to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. Its aim is to fill the "valley of death" between basic research and marketization, and accelerate the industrialization of innovative achievements by providing support such as technology evaluation, prototype development, and commercial feasibility verification.
TIES has carried out research on cutting-edge technologies such as solid-state lithium batteries, sodium ion batteries, lithium sulfur batteries, high-capacity anode and cathode materials, and has developed new technologies such as ultra-thin precision control surface coating technology, in-situ solid-state technology, new lithium carbon anode technology, advanced battery graphene gel application technology, long-life high specific energy lithium sulfur technology, system integration technology, and ultra-low temperature battery technology. It is a new type of research and development institution that integrates innovative research and development, testing and analysis, failure analysis, intelligent manufacturing, engineering amplification, industrial incubation, high-value information services, high-end training, etc. It currently has a research and development site of over 50000 square meters, a research and office area of 10080 square meters, and has introduced advanced equipment worth about 160 million yuan from home and abroad. It has strong research and development and production equipment conditions, providing sufficient space and equipment facilities for concept verification. We have established three major centers: the Testing and Analysis Center, the Process Engineering Center, and the Frontier Technology Center, with a focus on the energy, power, and intelligent manufacturing industries. Our goal is to develop and industrialize the industry, and expand the market with technical services. TIES has invested nearly 60 million yuan to build four battery pilot lines, including power soft pack batteries, square aluminum shell batteries, cylindrical batteries, and small soft pack batteries, that are compatible with multiple standard models. It has also established a complete battery electrical and safety performance testing laboratory. Develop an intelligent manufacturing equipment research and development platform for the next generation of energy storage technology, develop new manufacturing processes, high-precision digital equipment, research and develop numerical simulation technology in the manufacturing process, and meet the needs of future large-scale, intelligent, flexible, and low-cost production. Form a full chain development model from forward-looking technology development, high-level testing and characterization, failure analysis, simulation and industrial incubation. We have served over 400 domestic and international industry clients, and have incubated nearly 20 new energy storage technology companies.
In addition, TIES has been approved to establish qualifications and honors such as National Specialized and Innovative Small Giant Enterprise, Jiangsu Advanced Solid State Battery Engineering Research Center, Jiangsu Advanced Power and Energy Storage Battery Industry Innovation Center, CNAS/CMA, etc. Led and undertook one national key research and development plan project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, one provincial key research and development plan - Industry Outlook and Key Core Technology project, and participated in multiple national key research and development plans and other projects.
In the future, TIES will drive technological achievements from the laboratory to the market, solving the "death valley" problem of early technology transformation. By providing support such as concept validation funding, technology evaluation, and commercialization counseling, we aim to assist universities, research institutions, and enterprises in verifying technological feasibility and reducing industrialization risks. Enhance the efficiency of technological innovation, incubate high-value patents and startups, and assist Jiangsu in building a globally influential industrial technology innovation center.
